Social opportunities abound, from a quiet card game among friends, to a Hawaiian Luau to ward off the winter blues.  An active community of volunteers and organizations from the surrounding area join with the staff to enrich the lives of our residents.

Bridges Care Community is a skilled nursing facility located in the heart of the beautiful Red River Valley in Ada, MN. The 49-bed facility is part of the Bridges Medical Center Complex which includes Bridges Hospital, Clinic, Wellness Center, and Norman County Emergency Medical Services.

The Care Community consists of two unique “neighborhoods”, Pioneer and Wildrose, each of which features a large, sunny commons area with skylights, fireplaces and three indoor gazebos for small gatherings, card games, and conversation.

Connecting the neighborhoods is an indoor street on which are a Beauty/Barber Shop, a Coffee Shop, an Activities Center, a secure outdoor courtyard, and the Bridges Chapel. The dining area is spacious and looks out onto the outdoor courtyard.  There are also two private dining rooms for family gatherings and celebrations.

Each private or semi-private room is part of an award winning design which provides each resident with comfort and privacy. Carpeting and woodwork complement the apartment-like atmosphere.  Personal touches are welcome and help residents feel at home. There is a large window for each bed overlooking the beautiful Bridges Campus.

Bridges Medical Center provides immediate access to a wide range of services including a clinic, emergency room, and hospital.  Physical and Occupational Therapy, Laboratory, X-ray, CT Scans, Nutritional Counseling, and a Surgical Suite are all available under one roof. In addition to Bridges’ own medical staff, Care Community residents have access to a variety of specialists who visit the facility regularly.

Transportation is also available aboard the Bridges Care Community Bus which is wheelchair accessible and makes frequent trips to for both appointments and pleasure.

When staying at home, Bridges residents can take part in numerous social and individual activities including art, music, bingo, and the frequent entertainment provided by visiting groups from the surrounding area.

The Care Community design was so innovative that it won an award. Every bed has its own window and the layout is spacious but comfortable, providing privacy without isolation. Just outside the private or semi-private room is an indoor community with an active social life.
